WHAT IS A HAZARD
WHAT IS A HAZARD
A hazard is something which can cause you harm, 
Hazard symbol or a sign recognises a hazard eg, Danger  
Signs are one way of reducing the level of risk of a hazard eg,

If you see a red sign that means it means its Danger, Warning 
Red - Danger, Caution
Yellow - Be careful, Warning
Blue - Mandatory 
Red - Fire, Heat, 
Green - Emergency, First aid, fire escape


HOW DOES A HAZARD SIGN LOOK LIKE

  • RED - Round shape; black pictogram on a white background; red edging and diagonal line; red part to be at least 35% of the ar!ea of the sign 
  • YELLOW - Triangular shape; black pictogram on a yellow background with black edging; yellow part to be at least 50% of the area of the sign
  • BLUE - Round shape; white pictogram on a blue background; blue part to be at least 50% of the area of the sign
  • RED - Rectangular or square shape; white pictogram on a red background; red part to be at least 50% of the area of the sign
  • GREEN - Rectangular or square shape; white pictogram on a green background; green part to be at least 50% of the area of the sign
HOW TO REDUCE THE RISK
There should be a sign with a logo/symbol which resembles the danger or must do, Must Have

  • Blue Sign with Helmet, jacket, boots, extra - resembles what you must to wear to enter the site 
  • Red Sign with ! in the middle, Heat Logo, STOP Sign - Resembles a warning be cautious
