who are the croods?

In The Croods movie, there's a family who lived in caves then later on migrating when they later meet a traveler who goes by the name Guy. The Croods are a different species than Guy as The Croods resemble Homo neanderthals while Guy is a Homo sapiens hence his appearance and knowledge. Homo neanderthals or "The Croods" are a extinct species from 350,000 to 40,000 years ago. Homo neanderthals have a prominent brow ridge with a sloping forehead, physically short and very muscular. Compared to Guy, a Homo sapiens, they are significantly unintelligent compared to Guys behavior, ability to light fire, setup traps but also speech which The Croods shouldn't have but the movie's comedic sense has allowed them.

Homo neanderthals, The Croods, had a long but lower skull with a prominent brow ridge and sloping forehead. Their build is stocky, short but very muscular compared to other human species. Their femur is wider than a human which allowed them for bipedalism. The Croods having lived in caves had a form of art, cave paintings that were used for story and hand paintings.

burials (unfinished)

The first burial is thought to be in the Paleolithic Period (Stone Age) which lasted from 3.3 million years ago to 15,000 BC. There been several discoveries that were from the period, all to believed to be the first burial ever. To differentiate disposal and intentional burials, archaeologists would look for stone tools buried along side with the bones.

The first burial site ever thought to be found was in Atapuerca, Spain, called the "Pit of Bones" its thought to be buried roughly 400,000 BC inside a cave, found by rail line construction workers in 1997. The cave had a 43-foot (13m) vertical drop then a 40-foot long horizontal ramp.

Archaeologists had found over 6500 bone pieces from mostly bears and other animals. Underneath was found 28 homodenazova hominins species, that split off from homo neanderthals (to be continued)

"Flower Burial" site in Iraq in 1960, french archaeologist found a possible neanderthal buried intentionally dating back 65,000 to 35,000 BC. Clumps of pollen were found around the grave likely to be placed by neanderthal relatives. This showed that neanderthals had the ability of abstract thought along side understanding beauty. Unfortunately, later it was disproved by the theory that mice had brought the pollen from local vegetation...
